SKU:REF6037
The STREPA'LERT test is a specific lateral flow test for the detection of group A streptococcus bacteria in throat infections. It helps you quickly find out whether your sore throat is caused by a Strep A infection rather than a viral infection which would not require antibiotic treatment.
Group A streptococcus can also cause scarlet fever that mostly affects children. Occasionally, a severe illness called invasive group A streptococcus (IGAS) may be caused when the bacteria enter the blood.
Results in 10 minutes.
To use your test, you will need to use the swab provided to collect a sample from the back of your throat. The swab is then placed in a tube with extraction solution and test strip. Wait 10 minutes before reading your result.
